
Granted in 1941 to Otto Hermann Böhm, this was another design in which a button controlled a mechanism that allowed certain reeds to sound, whilst physically blocking the other reeds. However, not only does this method present certain problems during playing, but by the time this was patented the Hohner Chromonica was already dominating the market and most makers were using a similar design for their chromatics
