Issued in 1928, this appears to be the earliest patent for the Hohner Chromonica 260, the first of the modern chromatic harmonicas. However, the application for this patent was made in 1926, some fifteen years after the Chromonica was first marketed. I can see no obvious differences between the instrument shown in these diagrams and those that were already on sale.
The patent names the inventor as David Newman of Napa, California, "assignor to M. Hohner Inc., a corporation of New York".
